When I became your larvae, you fed me from your plates.

What exactly does Tomoe have that made me love her?

In the beginning, I didn't really care for Tomoe as a character. She was just there. Not that I hated her or anything, I just didn't care.

"Rurouni Kenshin is the humourous tale of an assassin turned good kicking a lot of ass without killing blah blah." Well, on the surface, yes. But to me, Rurouni Kenshin is a story of redemption. And Tomoe is a fine example of this concept.

Tomoe is of noble character. She came to Kenshin to know about the man who took away her happiness, but found an honest, good man. How many people would accept that the guy who killed the person one loved is a neat man indeed? Of course, we can now all lay back and think: "I would!" But is that really true? If we were in Tomoe's situation, would we really be able to forgive?

Tomoe saved Kenshin in so many ways; psychically and physically. Tomoe let Kenshin realize he could escape the cycle that was drowning him mentally. She gave him hope. Without her, Kenshin would have surely never become happy again. She gave him the power to go on, and in him the will was born to be happy. At the end, she even gave her life so Kenshin could have a second chance.

I always felt that elegant touch from her, like I would expect from a geisha, if I ever see one in my life. Tomoe is the epitome of a lady.
